Mission Statement

The mission of the National Association of School Safety Officers (NASSO) is to serve as a comprehensive resource hub where School Administrators, School Resource Officers, School Safety and Security Officers, and school staff members can access high-quality, free educational and training opportunities that support the development and sustainability of effective school safety and security programs.

By providing access to current articles, blogs, research, and expert commentary, NASSO seeks to foster collaboration, inspire innovation, and encourage the exchange of ideas among professionals dedicated to creating safer learning environments for students, staff, and communities nationwide.

NASSO is committed to the principle that professional development in school safety and security should be accessible to all practitioners, regardless of budgetary constraints. As such, NASSO proudly offers free membership and actively promotes no-cost training opportunities whenever possible. The Association believes that access to knowledge, best practices, and professional growth should never be hindered by financial barriers, as safer schools benefit entire communities.

NASSO is dedicated to building and maintaining strong relationships with recognized leaders, practitioners, and subject matter experts within the school safety and security profession. Through these partnerships, we strive to identify emerging trends, innovative practices, and future learning opportunities that enhance professional growth and organizational effectiveness.
